Hard to believe we are in November already, but even more unbelievable are the temperatures this fall. The Indian Summer has ushered in the warm and fuzzy feeling in the city and many of the things we are most grateful for. Beyond family, a great team and new adventures, we’re thankful for all things pumpkin, especially our 902 pound Great Pumpkin at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner this month. The warm fall nights are perfect for dining in style on the Georgetown Marina at Fiola Mare, and cozy technical cashmere sweaters from Kit & Ace have arrived in Shaw. We can’t help but feel grateful to live and work in DC at a time like this when we can hear go-go music on the corner of Florida and 8th Street, while planning the opening of the new North End Shaw development with amazing businesses including Warby Parker, Aesop, Frank & Oak and more. Our restaurant clients are killing the Thanksgiving menu game with everything from Chef Sherry Yard’s Three pumpkin pie with chantilly cream and pumpkin mousse at City Perch to Chef Fabio Trabocchi’s Pine roasted Shenandoah rack of lamb with artichokes & parsnip casserole and burgundy black truffle at Fiola and yes…the salted caramel hot chocolate is baaaaaaaaack at Shake Shack!

The vision is finally coming to life as the stores get open in North End Shaw.  Compass Coffee welcomes its second location, Montreal based Frank & Oak is here for the guys, Chrome industries even has an amazing conveyor belt stacked with stylish and utilitarian messenger bags that can be completely customized.  Wait until you see the Riide DC bike shop, Read Wall and soon Aesop and Duke’s Groceries.  Finally, the urban sophisticate  consumers can escape from their busy lives and aspire for originality and distinct identity as they select and curate the products that reflect their lifestyles.

Cole Haan

Original Grand Chukka – Cole Haan is one of my favorite menswear shoe brands and every guy should have at least one great pair of Chukka Boots to wear during the week or on the weekends. This Original Grand Chukka is not only super comfortable (trust me, I know. I have about 4 pairs of chukka’s), but you’re able to dress it up or dress it down depending on where you’re headed. Switch them out for your everyday trendy sneaker and you’ll be sure to get some great compliments.

Cambridge Double Monk Oxford

Cole Haan

Cambridge Double Monk Oxford – The classic oxford shoe is always great to have if you’re working in an everyday business environment, but take it one step further with this double-monk oxford. The double buckle really makes a statement and can be the one item that ties your suit look together. You’ll have everyone in the office talking…in a good way

COACH Backpack (Bloomingdale’s Exclusive) – When I’m out and about in the city, I see so many different types of backpacks on guys. My thought is, if you’re going to rock the backpack look, make sure you’ve got the right pack to show that you’re still stylish, but your practical. This Coach Backpack which is exclusive to Bloomingdales in a rich two-tone leather construction is clean and classic. It can take you from work to the gym in no time. Who said backpacks are only for the “cool” kids in school? Break the rules. There’s no time outs with this piece.

Burberry Brit Eckford Wool Cashmere Pea Coat – If there’s one thing you’re going to need this winter, it’s the pea coat. This Burberry Brit Eckford Wool Cashmere Coat can go with ANY outfit. It’s a great to wear over layers in the colder winter months. It’s also so versatile that you can wear it during the day or if you’re headed out the door on a date in the evening. The cashmere will add a nice warm layer to your outfit, but keep you feeling effortlessly cool when she leans in for a kiss to stay warm.

Coming to iPic Bethesda

Daniel Craig hits the iPic big screen on November 6th with the newest addition to the Bond series, Spectre.  James Bond won’t be the only one snapping into action this time around.  Recline in plush leather seats and let the iPic Ninjas do the rest!  Order delicious flatbreads or Naanchos at the push of a button.  And don’t forget to sneak one of Chef Sherry Yard’s famous chocolate chip cookies.  How very 007 of you!

Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” by design, is more of a slow jam than a house banger. See how Sam Smith and Disclosure made Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ sound like a Sam Smith and Disclosure song in the Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1.

By now you have your wardrobe staples for fall all set, but what about your eyewear game?  There is only one place in town for hautness for your eyes and it’s all in the family.  We’re excited to welcome Georgetown Optician to the TAA family.

This fall, Georgetown Optician worked with the creative geniuses at Design Army to launch a short film and campaign telling the story of the family behind the company. Fashion meets quirkiness as the film follows three main characters, Isaac, the father; Irene, the daughter; and Ivan, the son, while capturing the theme “our family knows glasses.”
